Three Week Progress and LeanGains Meals!

I look and feel considerably smaller even from losing just 8 pounds. But even after dropping 8 pounds, my lower abs are nowhere near defined enough to my liking. It’s bizarre to me that I still feel soft and am able to grab handfuls of chub around my waist area even at a body fat around an estimated 13 or 14%. Some people might consider my current look acceptable or even ideal, but I’m not satisfied yet. I touched on this in my previous post; It’s about what you want, not what everyone else thinks you should want.

One of my followers, Aniruddha, asked me to post some meals that I eat on training and rest days so I’m going to post some pictures of my meals and their associated macros. Hopefully this will help people get an idea of what types of foods are good for low-carb (rest) and low-fat (training) days.

Training Day (Goal Macros: 2,471 Calories, 328g Carbs, 180g Protein, 50g Fat)

Rest Day (Goal Macros: 1,573 Calories, 50g Carbs, 180g Protein, 80g Fat)

Friends Can Demotivate You: How to Stay on the Path
The fact is, people aren’t you. They don’t know you. They don’t know your exact motivations, goals, dreams, or your reality. They don’t know that you’ve done your research for hours on end. They don’t know that you’ve planned your attack, that you’re ready to tackle the monster that is self-doubt and fear. Sometimes not even your closest friends or family members know this. There’s only one person that can possibly understand what YOU want: you.

RPT = Sore Legs
I think the key to any successful diet is that it’s something you’re willing to stick with. I don’t think I’d be able to sustain eating healthy if I didn’t actually enjoy the taste of it. Another plus side about doing LeanGains is that my diet has improved tenfold since starting it. I’m eating more solid foods instead of relying on protein shakes, cutting down on sugary/carby foods, and enjoying a lot more fruits and vegetables. So far, so good. Will update again soon.

Making Progress Already
It’s pretty amazing how quickly I’m seeing results from doing this for just two weeks now. Besides what the scale is telling me (down to 179.8 pounds today), I’m also noticing some very slight changes to my ab definition. Probably changes no one else would notice, but that’s how it usually works with working out and dieting. Within a week or two you feel different, a few more weeks you start noticing changes, and soon after that others start to notice. I feel like blog will be much more interesting with pictures, so here’s one I snapped earlier today.

Intermittent Fasting
I’m going to start making posts about my journey doing LeanGains (a diet/workout methodology based off Intermittent Fasting) which you can read more about here. In a nutshell, the diet calls for fasting 16 hours everyday. This means that you have an 8 hour window to get your calories in, also known as your “eating window.” There are a shit ton of benefits to this diet which you can read about on the site I linked, but perhaps the biggest ones are increased energy levels (particularly during training), fat loss, and minimal muscle loss.

I’m Giving Up Milk
Warning: This post is nasty.
After almost 28 years of consuming milk, I’ve decided to give up the cow juice. Me and milk have had some great memories. I used to go over to my neighbor Steve’s house when I was a kid and play basketball. When we’d take breaks all the kids would drink soda or Sunny Delight and I’d always ask for milk. These odd requests eventually earned me the moniker “Milk Boy”, a nickname that I was sure I would live up to forever. But I was wrong.

4,000 calories
That’s how many calories I’m trying to eat every day for the rest of this month. It’s an experiment, you see. I’m trying to see if I can gorge myself with food like your average American can do on a daily basis. But the thing is, it’s hard as hell for me to do. I have to force myself to eat every fucking two hours and a lot of the time I’ll be a couple hundred calories short by the end of the day. Meanwhile, your average (obese) American has no trouble at all downing 2,000 calories just for lunch. How the fuck is that even possible?
I decided to walk downtown today to enjoy Wilmington’s annual Azalea Festival. For those of you who aren’t from here, it’s this event that my city has once a year where they bring out singers and dancers and funnel cakes and shit. Then they shut down a big ol’ portion of the roads and people walk around eating meat on a stick and funnel cakes and corn dogs and shit. I was walking around the whole time thinking, “And you wonder why you’re 350 pounds?!” Meat on a fucking stick! Jesus Christ.
Anyway, the real reason I’m trying to gain weight is because I’m still too goddamn skinny. You might have read this post where I talk about my anorexia. No, I’m not really anorexic, but I suppose this is my way of getting back at all the bullies from my childhood years. I’m gonna balloon up to 300 pounds and fucking go to my high school reunion and fart in their faces. Just kidding, FUCK my high school reunion.

11 Pieces of Advice for Life
I remember as a kid asking my mom when she thought she really grew up; at what age did she stop making mistakes and doing things for the sake of being young and naive. She told me 50 years old was right around the time things really “clicked” for her. Looking back now, she feels she was still young and foolish well into her 30′s and even in her 40′s! Keep in mind, my mother is Chinese, so if Chinese people are capable of making mistakes, that means we’re all screwed.
So if what she says is right (and mothers are rarely wrong), I still have a hell of a lot of things to learn. But I’ve gained a little wisdom along the way in my almost 28 years of existence and today I’d like to share some of them with you.

Is Masturbating Bad For You?
You’ve all probably heard at one point in our lives that masturbating was bad for you. There are all sorts of deterrents to masturbation, like getting hairy palms or going to hell. But I’m not here to talk about any of that silly folklore. You’re not transgressing any moral boundaries when you spank your monkey or fingerblast your vuhjayjay. But what if masturbating carried social repercussions? Is it possible that masturbation is more harmful than we think?
